Popular blogger Githaiga wa Chai has come under fire after sharing a leaked audio recording of embattled gospel singer Triza Njeri in a heated confrontation with her husband, Karangu Muraya.

Githaiga, known for dissecting celebrity issues on his TikTok and Facebook platforms, had uploaded the controversial audio recently, leaving netizens stunned.

What did the viral Karangu audio reveal?

The audio, which has been trending widely, captured Triza furiously confronting Karangu in their house over his alleged affair with his second wife, Carol Kim.

In the clip, Triza’s frustration was evident as she shouted, breathed heavily, and even threatened to walk away from the marriage while hinting at harming herself.

Following the leak, both Triza and Karangu denied being behind its release.

However, Triza pointed fingers at Carol, accusing her of leaking the recording to bloggers.

How did Githaiga respond to backlash for sharing the viral Karangu audio?

Despite the couple’s denials, Githaiga became a target of backlash after sharing the audio online.

He addressed the criticism in a lengthy Facebook post, insisting he was only doing his job.

“By the way, do not blame Meza ya Chai for serving what you recorded and gave out to spread. My work is to serve tea as it comes. When they released it, they of course thought it would backfire on Triza, just like the other one, only that it didn’t,” he wrote.

Githaiga further suggested that Karangu himself was fuelling the backlash, especially due to his role as a brand influencer.

He alleged that the audio leaks had affected Karangu’s partnerships, leading to job losses.

“On brands, give me a break, wherever you have been fired, we are not responsible. It is these audio recordings that are being leaked, and you know who is doing that,” Githaiga stated.

He also dismissed Karangu’s emotional reaction after the audio went viral, referencing the gospel singer’s live session where he broke down in tears.

“This thing about you crying to attract sympathy is no longer working; it won’t hide the truth. Confront it. Any missile aimed at Triza will always be met by a nuclear from Wa Chai and the entire Triza defence force,” he warned.

The outspoken blogger also rubbished claims that he was being paid to tarnish Karangu’s reputation.

“On Githaiga being paid to tarnish you, give me a break. No one pays me to defend Triza. In fact, if I were easily paid off, you would have paid me a long time ago,” he wrote.
