Mookh Ticket Website Crashes Ahead Of Kenya vs Madagascar CHAN Match
The highly anticipated clash, scheduled to be played at Kasarani Stadium on Friday, August 22, had drawn massive demand, with supporters rushing online to secure tickets by the time of going to press.

Football fans were left stranded on Tuesday, August 19, after the Mookh ticketing website crashed as sales for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter final between Kenya and Madagascar at Kasarani Stadium were set to begin from 12 noon.
The highly anticipated clash, scheduled to be played at Kasarani Stadium on Friday, August 22, had drawn massive demand, with supporters rushing online to secure tickets by the time of going to press.
However, instead of purchasing access, thousands were greeted with error messages and frozen pages, sparking frustration across social media. As observed by Viral Tea, they were met with “Error 1200: This website has been temporarily rate-limited.”
“Too many requests for chan.mookh.com. Try again later,” read another message from the website.

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, among others, to air their grievances, with many accusing the ticketing provider of not preparing in advance for a flood of requests to come their way.
Continuous spot checks on the website then showed that the ticket sales were to begin at 1 pm today, pushed from 12 noon.
The temporary collapse of the ticketing system comes at a time when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has placed strict regulations on match attendance, requiring controlled digital ticketing to curb overcrowding and security breaches.
Amongst the measures, CAF had imposed tough restrictions, including cutting down stadium capacity to 60 per cent (27,000 tickets), a difference of 19,000 tickets down from the 46,000 previously allocated for the stadium’s 48,063 capacity.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) had announced Mookh as its official ticketing partner to streamline access and avoid the chaotic scenes witnessed in past fixtures.
On Monday, August 19, Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Salim Mvurya confirmed that no incidents of disorder or breaches of CAF regulations were recorded during Harambee Stars’ 1-0 win over Zambia.
“I am proud to report that both at Kasarani and across these fan zones, there were no incidents of disorder or breaches of CAF regulations,” he announced.
The Cabinet Secretary commended the conduct of supporters at all 10 official fan zones, which included Uhuru Park, Jacaranda Grounds, DC Grounds, Safari Rally Grounds, Dandora Stadium, Utalii Sports Grounds, Pandi-Pieri Grounds, Nairobi CBD (Archives), Clay City Grounds, and Babadogo Play Ground.
